Our Story

Shedid & Parrish is a labour of love, born out of passion but also a need.

As a mixed race baby of Sudanese, Congolese, Italian & Belgian heritage, adopted into a Caucasian British & Canadian family, I lacked not only a strong sense of identity but had no idea what to do with my hair!

I struggled to find the right products for my curls, even the right professionals to help me look after them and having no-one with curl knowledge in my adopted family I was at a loss.

Having a successful International career in the food industry, I was fortunate to frequently travel the globe but found that no matter where I travelled, curls were still under supported both on the shelves and in the salons.

I decided that this needed to change and whilst my curls are individual given my mix, I wanted to find a way to care for all curls whether they present in tight coils or loose waves. They all needed to be considered, understood and supported.

And so Shedid & Parrish was born.
